About Me

Massachusetts, United States
I am 41 years old. I have been married to my husband for 15 years. We have a son who was born in April 1996. We live in Central Massachusetts with our dog Maggie (a black lab we adopted from the animal rescue league) and our cat Sam (a stray that adopted us) I graduated from college with a BFA in Theatre in 1993 (hence the name) and for a few years pursued a career as an actress. Then life took over and I got married, had a baby and decided to get a "real" job. In November 2004, I was diagnosed with Young Onset Parkinson's disease. In December 2004, I was hospitalized for surgery to remove an ectopic pregnancy. In December 2009, I was laid off from my job. In June 2010, my son was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome at the age of 14. Stick around to see what happens next!

My life just gets stranger by the moment....

OK, so my right foot started to swell this week. I didn't think much of it. I've been known to "retain water". Well, yesterday it go so big it hurt and I looked like an elephant. I called my Dr., they told me to go to the ER. Great! Just how I wanted to spend my Friday night. So, off I go to the new ER at our hospital.(which, by the way, is wonderful...I'll never go to the other one ever again). I was taken in right away.

They took my history...the whole gorey story...and zones in on the fact that I have Factor V Leiden. The dr's exact words were, "I am worried about 3 things. clots, clots and clots. So, he does an ultra sound on my leg. The veins in my thighs look ok...compression is good (whatever that means) but blood flow is not good. He can't find the vein behind my knee. So, the do a blood test that comes back slightly positive. Fabulous. They decide to give me a shot of Lovenox in my belly as a precaution and I am to go back this morning for a "real" ultrasound by the professionals.

Hopefully it's not a clot and just something odd going on but well see. I'll report more when I get back.

Say a prayer for me!

Toodles.
Janice
