About Me

My photo
Massachusetts, United States
I am 41 years old. I have been married to my husband for 15 years. We have a son who was born in April 1996. We live in Central Massachusetts with our dog Maggie (a black lab we adopted from the animal rescue league) and our cat Sam (a stray that adopted us) I graduated from college with a BFA in Theatre in 1993 (hence the name) and for a few years pursued a career as an actress. Then life took over and I got married, had a baby and decided to get a "real" job. In November 2004, I was diagnosed with Young Onset Parkinson's disease. In December 2004, I was hospitalized for surgery to remove an ectopic pregnancy. In December 2009, I was laid off from my job. In June 2010, my son was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome at the age of 14. Stick around to see what happens next!

UPDATE

So after sitting in the ER waiting room for 3 hours we finally get in. I was in tears by then from the anxiety and the fact that my family was spending there Sat in the ER with me.

The ultrasound tech lady shows up and does basically the exact same thing the dr last night did. I guess just with a bigger and better machine. She hands in her report to the Dr. Ultrasound....negative! Great... now what? Basically a pat on the back saying isn't it great your ok now get out of here. No further discussion of why my foot/ankle is all swelled up. Don't get me wrong, I am so grateful that there isn't a clot..that just would have sucked..I don't think I could have given myself injections twice a day for 6 months...but I feel like they should have at least tried to figure out what else it might be. I feel like I completely wasted my time there. I know I didn't and that we needed to rule it out. I'm also pissed at my primary care dr. for sending me to the ER yesterday at 4pm instead of having me come into the office. Now, we have to shell out $100 ($50 for each visit).

Anyway, I am exhausted now. I didn't sleep much last night and from the several crying jags I had today I am just done for. I'm going to plop my butt on the couch and stay there till tomorrow. :)
